Membership events give Mississippi women a chance to form friendships and share ideas. Meeting together provides members with the opportunity to network and learn from each other. This support system encourages members to engage the public while promoting issues important to agriculture. MWA helps women improve management of risk in production agriculture and agribusiness operations through a variety of educational events, including an annual conference, regional issues-and tools-based workshops, and online presentations by Mississippi’s agricultural experts.

MWA and its associated programs are based on Annie’s Project, a nationally recognized farm program dedicated to strengthening the roles of women in the farm enterprise. It is based on the experiences of Annie, a young wife who made it her goal to work with her farmer husband to make their business successful.

Annie's Project covers these areas:

  • Business Plans
  • Estate Planning
  • Financial Record-Keeping
  • Financial Statements
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Risk Management
  • Technology Security
  • Women and Money
